Most of us have this beautiful vision of our future. Marry our perfect match and have a great family. Some girls don't get the chance to live like that or imagine living like that. In Sudan, girls are forced to marry men that could be 50 years older than them just because their family wants some money.When the girls refuse, the parents simply beat them, sometimes to death. Who knows how many girls face this struggle because I doubt that this only happens in South Sudan. These parents have no heart.
Honestly, this is disgusting. The Struggle should never be that real to the point that a child is given up by her family to a pedophile. Poverty is a deep problem in countries outside of the US, but I think older men seeking underaged females should be illegal worldwide. Young girls are forced to be with a grandpa/great grandpa because of the wealth he can give with a life of sadness in return. The old man is going to die anyways, why put the child through so much pain when it isn't worth it in the end?
ReplyDeleteWow thats horrible. It seems like parents would have some compassion for their own kids, even if that is normal where they live. Thats no way to give away your children, quite heartless in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteIt's so terrible that women have to suffer through this treatment and fear for their lives because of their relationship status. Here in the U.S, most women don't fear for their lives because of sexism, so it's easy to forget about the oppression in other parts of the world. This horrible discrimination needs to change.
